Carvers Corner

Our December Show, Carry-in and Live Auction were wonderful as usual. The food was great and people stayed late for the Auction. This year we chose Tom & Brenda Kallner are our newest Life Members.

We are still continuing to work on Comfort Birds. Thanks to all who have been helping us with getting these birds cut out and carved. We can slow down for a while as we are caught up now.

Dues are $10.00 + $1.00 per each family member. Always due in December.

Club elections were held on December 8 at our Club Meeting. Steve Fowler is now 2nd Vice President and Earl Whitaker & Bob Freeman are new Directors. Suzi, Gary & Jane. Bob is filling out Chuck Leming’s final year.

Turning a New Leaf

 I will be in Gulf Shores, Alabama until March 1, 2016 along with Mildred and Suzi. Steve Fowler will get the Newsletter out while I’m gone, so if you need to share info for the Chip Chatter contact him at 667-1658 or scfowler@comteck.com. If all goes well and Steve wishes to keep the newsletter that will be fine with me as I’ve been doing it for about 24 years.

There will be some exciting news in the near future concerning carving shows and changes. We’re not at liberty to say anything yet.

Board Meeting

We will hold our Board meeting on March 1, 2016 to conduct business.

We’ll meet at 5:30. All are welcome at our meetings.  Board members and officers, if you have any ideas for the meeting just e-mail me.

OUR RECIPE CORNER
from the Kitchen of Barb Belcher

Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad

1 large head of broccoli (just florets, chopped)

1 large head of cauliflower, chopped

12 pcs. Bacon, fried crisp

1 cup sunflower nuts or kernels

1 medium onion (or less) diced

½ cup raisins

Mix 1 cup mayonnaise, ½ cup sugar and 2 Tbsp. vinegar.

Add diced onion and raisins.

Let sit for 2 hours then add remainder of ingredients and toss.
