Carvers Corner
(Or Gary’s Gossip Column)

I hope you all are planning to set up at the July Carving Show or at least coming to the Banquet. If you want to come to the Banquet and Auction see Mildred to get your name on the list. The Big Dipper is catering it again this year. The auction helps us pay our insurance and utilities.

The tuck pointing on the South side is done as are the windows on the same side and the doors too.

We are still continuing to work on Comfort Birds. Thanks to all who have been helping us with getting these birds cut out and carved.   It is really appreciated.

Dues are $10.00 + $1.00 per each family member. Always due in December so now they are late.

Your Ol’ carvin’ buddy,

Turning the Corner

Thought I’d just remind that there is no end to what could be carved from an item that was turned on the lathe first! So should a person get some idea in mind that they would like to try and it required turning first.  Give your idea to Jim or Dave and see about us helping you get started. July being a busy time for us all, Jim will be by himself at the show unless someone would like to keep him company. There would not need to be much more than that. Dave will be off on a trip out west the he himself did not arrange.

So a bowl, a platter or any number of things with even a slight carved decoration may be within our means to help! Give us your ideas.

New Bathroom

Tom Kallner and Bob Alexander have been working on a new bathroom on the second floor. They are getting close to finishing up and it will be a great help for us when we have multiple guests upstairs.

from the Kitchen of
Donna Anderson

2 cups cooked, mashed zucchini
1 egg
1 can sweeten condensed milk (like Eagle Brand)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup flour
2 Tbls butter

Mix ingredients in bowl, pour into unbaked pie shell, sprinkle with cinnamon.  Bake at 350 for approx. 1 hour.

So easy and so good

NOTE: I like to drain off the zucchini after it is cooked using cheese cloth.
