We are still continuing to work on Comfort Birds.   We got our box of Heinecke basswood.  Thanks to all who have been helping us with getting these birds carved.   It is really appreciated.

We are looking forward to spring already so we can start our brick work and windows.

I hope we will be able to get started on the third floor windows very soon. Spring must be coming soon. We also plan to start work on a new Bathroom on the second floor very soon.

Dues are $10.00 + $1.00 per each family member. Always due in December so now they are late. All who may owe need to contact me as we will purge in March and spend no stamp money on those delinquent.

Your Ol’ carvin’ buddy,
Gary

Re: Linda Sales’ Woodburning Class

I have lost my list of people who want to take the Linda Sales class on April 18 & 19, 2015. I need to hear from you soon as possible so we know where we are at in class. I lost my file and I know some of you that wanted to take it but, once the date was set not sure who was available for sure. Help this poor old mind get things back on track if you would.

$85.00 is the fee for two days. $25.00 will hold your spot.

Thanks,
Suzi

Sad News

Chuck & Becky Leming Life Member   # 51-52 passed on February 27th on their 45th Annivesary. They were very active members and Chuck was on the Board of Directors. They were always here for work projects when we were painting, doing carpenter work or most anything when working on our building. Becky was a great baker and always did the Basket Classes. Both will be missed.

OUR RECIPE CORNER
from the Kitchen of Linda Courtney

Linda’s Spicy Potato Casserole

Ingredients;

2lbs cubed chicken breast (3 or 4) put in oven to bake let cool and cut up into 1/2 ” cubes set aside.
8-10 potatoes cubed.
(Sauce)
1/3 cup olive oil
1to 2 tsp. salt
1tsp black pepper
1 tsp  garlic powder
1 to 2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp hot sauce or more if you want it hotter.

9×13 casserole dish spray with pam.
Mix the ingredients above in a dish or pan.
Put potatoes in mixture stir till coated, pour into
casserole dish. Bake on 350 covered for 50 minutes
stirring every 15 min. till cooked thru. After the potatoes are done, stir chicken in remaining sauce.
Add 1/2 cup of diced onions 4-6 slices of bacon (doesn’t need to be crisp), cut into small pieces, add 2 cups of Fiesta finely shredded blend cheese, sprinkle bacon and onion on top of mixture.  Bake at 350 (uncovered) 20 mins or until cheese is melted.

I’ve made a few of these and have added Velveeta cheese on top of cooked potatoes.
