Posted in Woodcarving on February 28, 2014 by ewcc

Sorry to have been shirking my duties of late. I’ve been a bit under the weather and had a few health problems. I’m hoping Spring comes early and we can get moving again.

The 38th ANNUAL DUNELAND WOODCARVERS SHOW will be held April 5-6, 2014. The show will be held at Woodland Park, in the Oakwood Grand Hall.

The park is located at 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana, 46368.

The Judges for the show will be:

Gary Gracey – Fruit Belt Carvers
Sharon Teska – Council Oaks Carvers
Gary Freeman – Eastern Woodland Carvers

If possible plan on attending. The Woodcraft Shop will be there from Bettendorf, Iowa with all your carving needs.

Gary’s Gossip Column

I’m sure you have had a hard time with this winter’s nasty weather. I for one am more than ready for spring.

I loved the warm weather in Florida but didn’t last long enough.

After being gone for two weeks and dragging a bit after my return you know I don’t have a lot of news.

We need some people to sign up for Joe Schumacher’s carving class so we don’t have to cancel. At present there are only two on the list.

Dues are $10.00 + $1.00 per each family member. Always due in December.

Your ol’ carvin’ buddy,

from the Kitchen of Pam David

Slice potatoes into an electric skillet

Slice small onion on top

Add chopped cabbage, however much you want

Add 1/2 C. Water and dot with butter (about 4-5 tsp.)

Salt and pepper

Put kielbasa (or another smoked sausage) in…

I usually cut the sausage in thirds.

Put on lid, set on med low (about 275-300) and don’t peek…don’t remove the lid..

.in 30 min. Dinner is ready. We love this stuff.……
